The Cooperative of Producers - Consumers of Ecological Products, “OIKOZOI” SYN.P.E. was founded in 1998 by members of Corfu Environmental Protection Society so as to promote organic agriculture and organic products, which were not available on the island of Corfu at the time, aiming at the possibility of their becoming widely affordable.

It is based in the Town of Corfu, at 104 Ioannou Theotoki street, it is a legal entity under Private Law and has a commercial status. “OIKOZOI” SYN.P.E. is administered by a five-member Board of Directors for a three-year term and is supervised by a three-member Board, today there are more than 100 members.

Today, it has approximately 100 members. It is governed by a five-member Board of Directors serving a three-year term and is overseen by a three-member supervisory board.

The efforts of our Cooperative form part of the broader ecological movement. Our members consider access to natural, healthy food in sufficient quantities to be a right for everyone, and they want the production of all other goods necessary for human life to be carried out in an ecological way.

We are also entitled to sell a number of traditional products under the responsibility of a technical inspection committee appointed by the board of directors. Besides food and beverages, we sell other environmentally friendly goods, such as ecological cosmetics, detergents, products from recycled paper and non-toxic paints.
